Have you seen Selling Sunset?

Reality television is something I have a love-hate relationship with. As much as I regret to admit I watch it from time to time considering it’s pretty ridiculous and dramatic, I also find it to be pretty entertaining, and it serves as a great option of mindless television for anyone who is need of turning their brain off for a little while.

I started watching Selling Sunset via Netflix a few days ago, and I’m just about finished the first season. The show focuses on a team of female real estate agents working for The Oppenheim Group in Los Angeles, a highly reputable name for luxury real estate in the region. In season one, the cast includes Jason and Brett Oppenheim, twin brothers and owners of The Oppenheim Group, along with their team of powerful women; Mary Fitzgerald, Christine Quinn, Chrishell Stause, Maya Vander, Heather Rae Young, and Davina Potratz.

While the drama that occurs between members of the cast isn’t necessarily my favourite thing to watch, I have to say that it is refreshing to find a series that depicts numerous women killing it through their work. All of the women at The Oppenheim Group are an inspiration for women and girls everywhere as they truly embody what it means to be a powerful, working woman.

The real estate properties shown in the show are pretty mind-blowing, with the average price of these homes ranging between four and ten million dollars. It’s interesting to get an inside glance at these incredible homes in Los Angeles, and while they don’t suit my fancy, I can appreciate them.

Selling Sunset, for me, started out as a typical reality show showcasing catty women, but in all honesty, it’s a tremendous example of how women can dominate the workplace. If you haven’t seen it, check it out.
