I mentioned in a post a little who ago that I recently found out that I have something called a Baker’s Cyst in my left knee. More specifically, in the back of it, which I find quite interesting considering all of the pain in my knee is in the front, but the human body doesn’t always make sense, right?
At least, mine doesn’t.
Anywho, because my knee has been a real bitch as of late, I figured I should probably invest in a brace of some sort to minimize the pain enough it isn’t interfering with my day-to-day life. I recalled reading about one in particular in a Buzzfeed article that was supposedly phenomenal for a very reasonable price, and after a bit of sleuthing via Amazon, I managed to find the one that was recommended in said article.
The Ipow 2 Pack Knee Pain Relief & Patella Stabilizer Knee Strap Brace Support for Hiking, Soccer, Basketball, Running, Jumpers Knee, Tennis, Tendonitis, Volleyball & Squats, Black (Jesus that’s a mouthful) retails on Amazon for $17.88, and it has absolutely fantastic reviews from folks with all sorts of different knee pains and conditions. It isn’t a traditional knee brace in the sense that it is much smaller and more discreet, which I can appreciate, and it’s actually a slim band that sits just below your kneecap and wraps around the knee entirely. It reminds me of elbow braces used for tennis elbow, actually, if you can visualize that.
The first day I put this puppy on, I immediately noticed a reduction in pain in my knee when walking and bending it. Could this be psychological? Perhaps, but regardless, I’m stoked to be in less pain.
I absolutely recommend this brace to anyone dealing with knee problems, but it’s always best to consult your physician first.
