What’s your skincare routine?

Skincare is a bit of a fickle topic for me. When I tell you I sincerely do not wish to ever know the dollar value of how much damn money I’ve invested in skincare products over the years, I mean it with tremendous tenacity; I would probably shit if I were to ever find out.

I started getting acne, to the best of my recollection, when I was in the seventh grade or so. At first, it was just a few pimples here and there, but once I hit high school and the hormones and puberty were partying together, it became more common than not.

Like any teenage girl, I was absolutely ashamed of my skin, and I would have done about anything to clear it up. I tried every product and treatment under the sun with the exception of Accutane, and here I am at the ripe age of 28 with skin just as shitty, if not worse, than it was all those years ago. My skin still bothers me, but thankfully, not to the extent it initially did; more often than not I leave the house with zero makeup on, something my teenage self would have been hysterical at the thought of.

The current skincare routine I’m dabbling in has been the same for a couple of years now. I can’t exactly say it works for me as I still get pimples and am using anti-acne products, but it isn’t a routine to frown upon, so I thought I would share it with all of you.

I wash my face with the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Cream Cleanser for Oily Skin, and follow that with apple cider vinegar as toner on a cotton round. Next, I apply the CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion, and then the CeraVe Eye Repair Cream for Dark Circles, Puffiness and Wrinkles. I also use RoC RETINOL CORREXION Deep Wrinkle Night Cream and Caudalie’s Pore Minimizing Instant Detox Mask.

Voila.
