Please don’t be too hard on yourself if you were not aware that ‘This or That’ is a game typically played between a group of at least two people. If anything, I’m inclined to believe playing the game with only two people would be the best way to do so, but you could play with more than two people if you so desired.
Essentially, ‘This or That’ is a question game. You’re presented with a question containing two options, and you’re expected to pick one or the other, hence the name. You can choose a theme for the questions or they can be entirely arbitrary – there is quite a bit of wiggle room that comes in playing this game.
To give you an example, I pulled the following questions from parade.com to give you an idea of how the game works with my own personal answers.
“1. Playlists or podcasts? Playlists.
2. Shoes or slippers? Shoes.
3. Pork or beef? Beef.
4. Swimming pool or beach? Beach.
5. Fruits or vegetables? Fruits.
6. Cats or dogs? Both. No question.
7. Summer or winter? Summer.
8. Salt or pepper? Pepper.
9. Cash or cards? Cash.
10. Cookies or chips? Cookies.
11. Soda or juice? Juice.
12. Farm or city? Farm.
13. Text or call? Text.
14. New phone or new clothes? New clothes.
15. Black or white? Black.
16. Driver or passenger? Driver.
17. Laptop or tablet? Laptop.
18. Comedy or Horror? Horror.
19. Beer or wine? Wine.
20. Dine in or dine out?” the website asks, and my answer is dining in.
You can have a lot of fun with this game, and as you can see from the wide subject matter covered in the above questions, the game can go in whatever direction you please. Give it a shot and see how you make out.
