Looking for some better-quality soap? Read this

I wrote a post a while ago discussing Native soap and my honest opinion of it. If you didn’t read it, not to worry; I absolutely love the stuff, and not only because it smells so heavenly. The only reason I decided to purchase some was because it was on sale – that is what caught my attention. When I started inspecting the ingredient list, I was pleasantly discovered to learn that Native soap is formulated without what I like to refer to as the shitty three – parabens, sulfates and phthalates – so when our supply at home began to dwindle, I decided to head to Shoppers to see if it was on sale again.

Alas, it was not, and because I cannot justify spending $20 on a bottle of body soap, I wanted to take some time to read the ingredient labels from a few different brands to see how they measure up to Native soap.

Shockingly, there aren’t too many soaps on the market made without the shitty three, but I was able to find one brand that I was unfamiliar with prior to examining its bottle. I grabbed two bottles of Raw Sugar soap, one bottle being watermelon mint scented, and the other being green tea, cucumber and aloe vera. Both scents smell divine, and the soap itself is great. It laters up well, meaning you can easily use it as a shaving cream, too, if you so desire, and the scents are strong, but not too overpowering. Both kinds smell fresh and revitalizing, and my husband and I have been enjoying making use of our new soap.

I visited the Raw Sugar website, which I linked above, and was delighted to learn the brand makes all sorts of clean, better-quality hygiene products. I’ll be keeping my eyes open for this brand in future.
