I’ve been dealing with knots in my hair since I was a child. I’ve been told I have fine hair, and a lot of it, and apparently, those of us who possess fine hair are more prone to encounter knots.
I think at times I’ve worked my way through entire areas of brush in my hair, and once, when I was a child, I ripped the entire pad of bristles right out of a brush in an attempt to alleviate the knots. This occurred at a friends house, and if you don’t believe me, I would be happy to have her verify this.
I will say my hair was far worse in terms of knots when I was a child, but this was arguably the result of me not giving two shits as a girl and running around with tumbleweeds spawning out of my scalp, much to my mother’s dismay.
Blaine, my husband, also has fine hair. His hair is long, roughly shoulder-length, and quite curly. He works as an industrial painter, and while he wears a painting suit equipped with a hood and mask, paint still finds its way onto him, oftentimes settling in the underneath layer of his hair. Blaine literally gets what we like to call ‘pain dreads’ in his hair that are as awful to brush out as they sound, and no matter the amount of conditioning spray or detangler used, I almost always end up having to cut chinks of his beautiful hair out, which pains me deeply.
We have fine combs and wide-tooth combs in our home, as well as a Wet Brush, but none of our current tools are able to handle both mine and Blaine’s hair. So, when I caught wind of a hair brush that is supposedly out of this world regarding what it can do, I was certainly intruiged.
