I am not really the type of person who faithfully abides by a specific quotation or motto in the ways I live my life, but I know a lot of people who do, so I figured I would browse the internet and seek out some quotations that caught my attention.
A lot of people tease individuals who place faith and meaning in a saying, and I don’t think that is right. If a person is able to find meaning in something, why should someone else dictate whether or not it is a valid thing to abide by? Simply respect what makes other persons feel good.
So, here are a few quotes that resonate with me:
– Margaret Mead
– William Gladstone
“To avoid criticism, say nothing, do nothing, be nothing.“
– Fred Shero
“Worry is like a rocking chair, it will give you something to do, but it won’t get you anywhere.“
– Vance Havner
“Wise men speak because they have something to say; fools because they have to say something.“
– Plato
“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before beginning to improve the world.“
– Anne Frank
“I have to exercise early in the morning before my brain figures out what I’m doing.“
– Anonymous
“It wasn’t raining when Noah built the ark.“
– Howard Ruff
“Don’t smother each other. No one can grow in the shade.“
– Leo Buscaglia
“Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.“
– Robert Brault
What are some of your favourite mottos and sayings? Do any of the above resonate with you? Let me know in the comments!
