I recently purchased the Mineral Wear Talc-Free Mineral Airbrushing Pressed Powder by Physicians Formula in hopes of discovering a face powder that keeps my face matte and provides high coverage. I have been using the Matte Setting Powder by Cover FX, and while this powder is decent in terms of performance, I have found as of late that it fails to keep my face shine-free.
I have oily skin, meaning it is always a challenge to come across face products that truly do keep my face looking matte. I was watching a YouTube makeup tutorial and the individual in the video recommended the Physicians Formula powder I recently purchased, so I figured I would take a chance and pick up one of my own.
This powder is available in most drug stores, and it retails for $20.00. Physicians Formula products are not cheap, but they are high-quality in terms of their ingredients. This powder for example is dermatologist approved, non-comodegenic, hypoallergenic, fragrance free, paraben free, cruelty free and gluten free. I have been using Physicians Formula products on and off for several years now because of their impressive ingredients, and they rarely disappoint.
This powder is intense in terms of its pigmentation, meaning it is definitely full coverage. I applied the product rather heavily the first time I used it, so be advised that it is quite dense on the skin. Use a light hand when applying it in order to achieve best results. It sits on the skin well but is not the easiest to blend, so again be careful when applying it to avoid looking cakey. It keeps my skin shine-free for a majority of the day, and a little product goes a long way. My only complaint with this product is the shade selection – the only shades available in this particular powder are translucent (which was far too light for me personally), and creamy natural. This brand is not particularly considerate of different skin tones, so this product may not be applicable to everyone.
Overall this product is a hit for me. If you have tried it leave me a comment down below to share your experiences with me!
