I would bet money that a majority of women my age have heard of or have seen ads for the Aztec Secret – Indian Healing Clay Skin Care Powder. This stuff has been around for a while now, and from what I have seen, most of the people who use it swear by its cleansing and purifying properties.
I’ve never been much of a facemask person, but I have been wanting to try this stuff out for a couple of years, believe it or not. I ended up ordering it before Christmas from amazon.ca, and after using it a couple of times, I feel as though I’ve given it enough of a trial run to write an accurate review of it.
This stuff comes in a one pound jar, and it costs between seven and 17 dollars, depending on where you purchase it from. If I remember correctly, I paid around 12 dollars for it from Amazon.
It’s definitely reasonable, considering the amount of product you get.
It is a powder, and you can mix it with either water or apple cider vinegar, depending on the sensitivity of your skin. The first time I tried it, I mixed the solution with water, but I prefer to use apple cider vinegar for a more intense effect.
I’m not going to lie, it took me five or six attempts to get the consistency of this stuff right, and that’s the only thing I don’t love about it. You have to add either liquid or the powder very slowly, otherwise, the mixture will go from too runny to too thick then back to too runny. It’s kind of frustrating, but I finally figured it out.
The instructions advise leaving the mask on for 10 minutes, during which it gets real hard and crackly. It can get messy, too, so be warned. This stuff hasn’t yet irritated my skin, and I find it helps with my blackheads more than it does my whiteheads, but I’ll take what I can get.
Overall, I would recommend this product. Just be sure to take your time mixing it with your liquid of choice.
