I will be entirely transparent and admit that since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, I’ve been slacking with my makeup game. Prior to COVID hitting, I wore a full face of makeup just about every day. Fast forward to now and I find myself struggling to find the motivation to simply throw on some mascara when I go somewhere.
Personally, I find my previous commitment to makeup rather astounding. The Lauren pre-COVID is not the Lauren post-COVID when it comes to makeup application. It’s not that I don’t give a shit anymore, although that is part of it; it’s more so the realization that I don’t have to spend the amount of time I was putting on makeup that will be washed off entirely at the end of the day, and I’m pleased to report I’ve saved some money in cutting back on makeup.
Since I don’t apply makeup all that often anymore, when I do, I have my go-to, holy grail products that I’ve been using for some time now, one of them being the Dermablend Loose Setting Powder in the shade original.
“A weightless, translucent powder that sets both face and body makeup for consistent, transfer-resistant & smudge-free makeup wear. our setting powder locks-in makeup, enhancing wear for up to 16 hours. Great for all skin types, skin tones, and skin conditions, our Loose Setting Powder blends smoothly and absorbs excess oil to mattify complexion and leave skin looking flawless,” is how the product is described via the Dermablend website.
This shit is the bomb. I’ve never used a more reliable, long-lasting powder that goes onto the skin so smoothly, and while it is a little pricier than some powders out there, it’s absolutely worth the money.
The one and only flaw regarding this powder is that it doesn’t look the greatest in photos if flash photography is used – there are images of myself that I will not be sharing in which I absolutely resemble an albino demon. Other than that, it’s great.
