When I first saw trailers for a film titled Bullet Train a while back, I knew it was a film I wanted to see. I wasn’t entirely sure of what it is about, in essence, aside from being an action movie, and when I saw it had been added to Amazon Prime, Blaine and I tuned in to watch it.
I should mention we have seen half of it at this point, and we plan to resume watching the remaining half when an opportunity arises. Blaine has been busy cutting hay, so probably once he has wrapped up the first cut.
Bullet Train stars Brad Pitt as Ladybug, a somewhat washed-up assassin who is nearing the end of his limits in the Assassin game. His last few jobs haven’t ended well, apparently, and when he receives a call to recover a briefcase aboard the Bullet Train, the fastest train on the planet, he decides to give it a shot. What Ladybug is unaware of, however, is the number of other opposing assassins also aboard the Bullet Train, all vying for this very same briefcase. Things get a bit hairy, needless to say, and there is no lack of action, to say the least.
Some of the other characters in this film include The Prince, played by Joey King; Lemon, played by Brian Tyree Henry; Tangerine, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson; and The Wolf, played by Bad Bunny. All of these specific characters are assassins, and lethal ones at that, and all of them find themselves crossing paths with Ladybug at some point or another whilst riding the Bullet Train.
I did not expect this movie to be as hilarious as it is, but it is seriously funny, and in an almost outlandish way. I get the feeling that the movie intends to be a bit ridiculous in regard to some of the events that transpire throughout, giving it an authentic and outrageous sense of comic relief.
I absolutely recommend watching Bullet Train if you haven’t already.
