Have you seen ‘Venom: Let there be Carnage’?

Blaine and I absolutely love the original Venom movie and have watched it together more times than we can count. For anyone who hasn’t seen Venom, a brief synopsis of the plot is as follows: Eddie Brock, played by the lovely Tom Hardy, is a journalist, engaged to Anne, played by Michelle Williams, who is a highly successful lawyer. In trying to break the news on a seriously controversial story, Eddie manages to lose his job and love, only to be joined by an unexpected identity; a symbiote from another planet named Venom.

When I say Eddie is joined by Venom, I mean it quite literally – Eddie is a match to host Venom in his own body, and as a result, Eddie finds himself with a hell of a lot of new skills, power and abilities.

The second installment in the Venom franchise, Venom: Let there be Carnage involves Eddie/Venom battling a new symbiote – one named Carnage who every so conveniently decides its best host would be Cletus Kasady, a seriously dangerous serial killer. Once Kasady/Carnage break out of the facility they’re locked within, they start wreaking havoc, and naturally, it is up to Eddie/Venom to save the day.

Compared to the first movie, the second kind of sucked. Blaine and I agreed the scenes including Venom were hilarious, as they usually are, but the entire film felt a bit rushed, unorganized, and failed to explain some key points and characters throughout the duration of the movie. It wasn’t bad, per say, but it wasn’t great, and it was a bit of a disappointment compared to the first film.

After the final credits of Venom: Let there be Carnage, there was an additional clip that absolutely suggests a Venom 3 will be in production, and from what this clip showed, I’m hoping it’s good.
