While I don’t manage to make a trip out to the nearest Costco as often as I should, especially in the summer months here on the farm, I am fortunate enough to have a mom and sister who, before going to Costco for themselves, always ask me if there is anything I might need for them to grab for me while they’re there. My sister frequents Costco the most in our family as it is where she shops when she has a catering job, so when she went earlier this week, she of course asked me if I needed anything. I told her no, so when she texted me to tell me she picked something up for me, I was certainly intrigued.
Costco sells yogurt-covered pretzels made by a brand called Creative Snacks Company. I’ve been enjoying their strawberry-flavoured pretzels for a while now, but when my sister spotted a new flavour, she figured she should get it for me to sample.
I am so damn glad she did.
The newest yogurt-covered pretzel flavour from Creative Snacks Company ever so conveniently happens to be one of my favourite flavours of all time – birthday cake, and yes, these are as delicious as they sound. They blow the strawberry flavour out of the water, in my own humble opinion, and while I will absolutely continue to eat and enjoy my current bag of strawberry, I imagine I’ll be sticking to the birthday cake flavour for the next while.
Sometimes, birthday cake-flavoured sweets can be waaaaay too sweet, but I am pleased to report these pretzels offer a balanced, delightful hit of birthday cake flavour. Not too sweet, but not underwhelming, either. Just enough.
They’re salty, they’re sweet, they’re phenomenal, and they’re waiting for you at your nearest Costco location. Get them before they’re gone, my friends.
