Long hair and knots tend to coincide with one another, but long hair is not the only requirement to experience knots; I’ve had hair that has a tendency to knot my entire life. I can recall literally ripping the top half, meaning the bristles, of a brush right out of its handle when I was a kid, trying to brush out my hair after swimming in our pool. The brush component of the device was attached to my head, the handle in my hand.
My hair was medium-length when I was a child, and now, it is long. I’ve used detanglers on and off, but I wasn’t having much luck with any of them until I read about the potential of one in particular and decided to try it out.
I am pleased to report I haven’t looked back since using this product, and neither has Blaine, who also has long hair.
The Honest Company’s Conditioning Detangler is arguably the best anti-knot hair product I’ve ever used. I use the Refresh: Citrus Vanilla version of the spray, as other scents are available, and the difference this stuff makes in my hair when I use it versus when I do not is wild. You can use this spray on both dry and wet hair, and while I primarily use it when my hair is wet, after I’ve washed it, I’ve recently started using it for flyaways and frizz.
Check out the product’s description via the Honest Company’s website:
“Leave it to our (all-time fave) leave in conditioner spray to get the job done. Tame your mane with our Refresh Detangling spray featuring a nourishing blend of naturally-derived ingredients like argan oil, jojoba protein, shea butter and quinoa extracts that help soften and smooth hair. Silken and separate strands the easy way with our detangler designed for all hair types, in a convenient spray bottle that can easily be taken on-the-go.”
I soak my hair in this while it is still wet, allow it to sit in a towel for a few minutes, then comb out my hair. It smells fantastic, it’s easy to use, it’s affordable, and it’s about to be your new best friend.
