If you need a laugh, watch ‘The Out-Laws’

I love me a solid comedy movie, as most people do. Laughing is always a joyous experience, and it can bring out the best in just about anybody, so it makes sense why so many of us enjoy watching the comedy genre.

The issue with comedy movies as of late, however, is that most of them are anything but funny. I so often find that newly released comedies have one or two actually hilarious moments throughout the entirety of the film, and most of the time, these one or two sole scenes of funny are depicted in the movie trailer anyway, leaving nothing to be desired by viewers for the remainder of the plot.

I can count on one hand how many movies have the ability to make me laugh aloud, but I am pleased to report that Blaine and I recently discovered a film that had us in tears we were laughing so hard. The film in question? The Out-Laws.

The Out-Laws was released via Netflix in 2023, and it stars Nina Dobrev as Parker, Adam DeVine as Owen, her fiancé, Ellen Barkin as Lilly, Parker’s mother, and Pierce Brosnan as Billy, Parker’s father. Parker and Owen’s wedding is in a matter of weeks, and Parker is delighted to learn that her parents, who have been off the grid for five years, will be attending their wedding. The only catch? About a week before the wedding, Owen, who happens to be a bank manager, experiences a robbery while at work, only to discover that the robbers in question are his future in-laws.

This movie is absolutely bloody batshit crazy in regard to what transpires throughout the plot, but when I tell you the insanity of the events that occur are hysterical, please take my word for it. If you want to laugh, give it a watch.
