I don’t need to remind anyone who owns pets that the idea of having clean floors for an extended period of time is a distant, borderline unattainable one. When I say pets, I’m mainly referring to dogs, because I certainly feel as though dogs are a bit harder on flooring than cats are, especially in the circumstance a dog is both indoor and outdoor, which mine and Blaine’s dog, Lenny, is.
My floors are clean of debris for the most part, when it comes to how clean my floors are in the context of mopping, I know they’re anything but. When I do mop, the floor in question remains clean for maybe an hour, on a good day, and it’s honestly a bit frustrating trying to keep our floors as clean as they could be.
That is, it was frustrating until I was introduced to the BISSELL CrossWave® All-in-One Multi-Surface Wet Dry Vac, courtesy of my sister. She convinced my mom to order me one using her Air Miles as a Christmas present, and my God, this thing is a fucking game changer when it comes to cleaning floors.
This device isn’t like other vacuum/mop combos in the sense that it vacuums and mops simultaneously, meaning you do not need to switch out components to change from the vacuum function to the mop one. Given the design of the machine, I was honestly skeptical of how well it would clean; I was kind of figuring the mop element would just soak up dirt and grime and spread it around as opposed to sucking it up, but damn, was I pleasantly surprised. Not only were my floors clean of debris, but they were actually clean courtesy of the mop component.
I did both our kitchen and mudroom in maybe 15 minutes, and had I swept and then mopped both, it probably would have taken me at least 40 minutes. This thing is not cheap, but it is absolutely worth it. My floors and I say so.
