What is your mascara preference?

I’ve dabbled in the mascara game over the years, and I like to think I’ve found one that trumps them all.

Yes, I realize that is a subjective stance, because beauty is existential, but for me, personally, one mascara reigns supreme.

As opposed to revealing this mascara in question right this instant, I thought I would share some of the runner-ups that I will settle for if I, for some reason, am unable to secure my ultimate preference.

Maybelline’s Great Lash mascara was the first mascara I ever tried back when I was about 14. My fellow millennial gals will know it as the one with the lime green and hot pink tube, but this stuff is decent in terms of length and volume, and I don’t recall it ever smudging or flaking on me.

Covergirl’s The Super Sizer mascara is my second favourite of all time. It gives my lashes pretty good length, but my favourite thing about it is its ability to stay on my lashes as opposed to my eyelids no matter how long I’m wearing it for. It’s great quality, and it is a more affordable option to boot.

My number one, go-to mascara that I’ve been using consistently for probably around five years now is L’Oreal Paris Telescopic Original mascara. When I tell you this mascara lengthens my lashes more than any other mascara on the market, I am not lying. I apply two coats and my lashes are just shy of hitting my eyebrows, and I imagine if I applied a third coat, they would surpass them. The formula is fantastic for layering because it doesn’t clump up, and the brush is great in the sense it is quite thin, so you’re able to use it to get your lashes in the inner and outer corners of your eyes.

The one and only downside is that it tends to transfer to eyelids if you, like me, have oily skin, but considering the length I get from this mascara, a bit of residue is absolutely worth it.
