My nails and I have come a long way over the years in terms of the quality of our relationship. When I was younger, I had a nasty habit of biting and chewing my nails, in addition to the skin alongside them. Most of my nails were bloodied stumps more often than not, and because they didn’t look terribly appealing, and because I was in pain, I decided spontaneously one day that I was done biting them, and I haven’t dabbled in the nail-chewing game since.
I do still pick at the skin surrounding my nails and my cuticles. I’ve been trying to be better, and I’ve narrowed the attack zone to mainly just my thumbs, but sometimes I go a little too hard in the paint and end up with nasty infections.
I’m an animal, I know.
I had heard wonderful things about Essie’s Apricot Cuticle Oil and decided to give it a shot. I don’t use it as often as I should, despite putting it right beside my bed to remind me to apply it in the evenings before I go to sleep, but one day at a time, right?
This product is great in the sense that while it is an oil, it absorbs into the skin quickly, meaning you don’t need to worry about leaving fingerprints everywhere you go. It retails for about ten bucks, which isn’t bad, and because you don’t need to use copious amounts of the stuff, it lasts a long time.
It also smells absolutely heavenly, which is something I can appreciate.
This oil boosts my nails and cuticles to an entirely new dimension after just one use, let alone if I was actually consistent with the stuff. If you struggle with dry, brittle and cracked nails, this product might be your new best friend.
