Have you seen ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’?

I recently finished watching Amazon Prime’s absolutely wild television series known as The Boys. I wasn’t entirely certain as to what to expect when I started watching it, but by the end of the fourth season (the fifth and final is being released next year), I can definitely say this show is not a superhero show, despite what one may suspect.

Now that I’m all caught up on The Boys, I needed to find something else exciting to watch. Netflix recently added a film titled Kingsman: The Secret Service, and because I have heard good things about this movie and the entire franchise, I decided to give it a go.

This first film in the Kingsman franchise stars Taron Egerton as Eggsy; Colin Firth as Harry Hart; and Mark Strong as Merlin. Essentially, Eggsy’s father was almost a member of the Kingsman Secret Service when Eggsy was just a boy; his father was killed while undergoing training to become a Kingsman, and once Eggsy becomes a young man, he, too, desires to pursue the path his father once trod.

Eggsy’s character is, arguably, a bit of an underdog in the film. He doesn’t come from money or social standings, like most of his fellow aspiring agents also going through training, and he is not taken entirely seriously at the start of his training.

I don’t wish to ruin the plot for anyone who hasn’t yet seen it, but things do change for Eggsy when he is least expecting it.

I do find some scenes entirely unbelievable, but this is not uncommon in action films. As for the action itself, however, I would say the fight scenes are quite impressive, and I enjoyed the ways in which they were filmed – you have to watch it in order to understand what I mean by that.

I do recommend watching this movie if you haven’t yet.
