Is Carhartt worth the price?

If you find yourself working in a trade, there is a strong probability you own some sort of clothing article from Carhartt, and understandably so; their products have a reputation for being warm, durable, and lasting quite a long time, and when you work in the trades, all of these characteristics are more helpful than not when it comes to clothing.

I’ve been familiar with Carhartt from a very young age because my dad and uncle have worn their items my entire life working on the farm. I don’t own the trademark Carhartt jacket myself; rather, I have a knockoff version which works just fine for me.

I actually ended up getting my very first piece of Carhartt clothing from my sister. Last Christmas, she gifted me a part of Carhartt overalls, and while they’re a little big on me, I love them. They’re warm as hell and don’t require essentially stripping naked to shimmy them off to use the bathroom, and the amount of pockets is unbelievable.

Fast forward to my birthday this past May; my parents were kind enough to gift me a Carhartt vest. This particular vest was made in collaboration with Chicken Farmers of Ontario, so it has the logo on the chest, and in addition to being quite fashionable for a work vest, it’s also insanely practical. The exterior is the classic Carhartt material whereas the inside is coated with a cozy fleece, and again, the amount of pockets is tremendously appreciated.

Carhartt clothing is not cheap by any means, but I really do think it is worth the price. Anything you purchase from Carhartt is, in a sense, an investment, and if you’re using it for work, the benefits really do outweigh the cons of cost. I love my Carhartt apparel, and I’m more than happy to continue receiving more as gifts.
