Read this for some good deed ideas

Being the recipient of a good deed is almost always a guaranteed positive experience. When someone goes out of their way to be kind, it makes us feel acknowledged, and perhaps even special; it is wonderful enough when people we know do something pleasant for us, but I think the effect is even more pronounced when a stranger does a good deed for us.

With Christmas approaching, it is possible that some of us are looking to do some of these good deeds to spread some Christmas cheer and spirit. I thought it might be useful to brainstorm some ideas that relate to doing a good deed for someone else, stranger or friend, and I hope some of these ideas are relevant to you. Check it out.

  • While this one is a classic, it doesn’t make it any less effective. If you’re grabbing something from a drive-through, offer to pay for the person’s order in the vehicle behind you.
  • If you’re out for dinner, pick a random table and ask your server if you can purchase their meal without informing them of your identity.
  • Go to the dollar store and grab some basic, essential items that you can keep in your vehicle and give to homeless individuals, for example, bottles of water, canned goods and food, hand sanitizer, mittens, hates, gloves, hand warmers, bags of chips, granola bars, chocolate sweets, etc. Furthermore, consider buying some dollar store gift cards with a value of $20 to hand out.
  • Donate to a local food bank
  • Volunteer to spend some time with rescue animals and strays in shelters
  • Volunteer to spend some time with seniors in care homes
  • Do some baking or cooking and hand some out to your neighbours

These are simply some ideas off the top of my head, but I’m sure there are plenty more options to spread some goodness this holiday season.
