As much as my husband and I enjoy The Keg, we try not to frequent it too often because it is on the pricier side. That being said, we promised each other back in May that we would go out for dinner to celebrate our birthdays – seeing as we are now almost entering July, we agreed enough is enough and finally got our asses out of the house. We conveniently waited long enough that our third wedding anniversary is actually in a few days, so, being frugal, we were able to kill two birds with one stone, so to speak; the birds being our birthdays and our marriage.
Super romantic, I know.
Anywho, because we had two solid events to celebrate, and because we had a gift card (lol), we decided to go to The Keg. We always enjoy ourselves when we go here to eat, and we both have our favourite things to order.
Blaine gets the Baseball Top Sirloin, cooked medium rare, alongside their incredibly delicious Garlic Mashed Potatoes. I am not exaggerating when I say these are the tastiest mashed potatoes I have ever savoured in my entire existence, and I converted Blaine into a lifelong fan after convincing him to try mine and abandon his normal choice of French Fries. I also, obviously, get the mashed potatoes, and I order the 8-oz Top Sirloin, cooked blue.
Yes, I am a sucker for blue steak, and I don’t plan on changing my ways anytime soon, diarrhea or not.
Because we were celebrating an occasion, our waitress was kind enough to gift us a dessert of our choice. Because we were celebrating two occasions, we got two. Muahah.
We opted for two slices of their Cheesecake with a chocolate drizzle on the side.
