Have you had a paranormal encounter?

Yesterday’s post inspired me to continue with all things spooky. While my own experiences with the supernatural realm don’t come anywhere close in comparison to other people’s experiences with the Appalachian Mountains, I’ve had a couple, and I would wager more people have than have not.

If you’re a skeptic, this post is not for you.

This happened quite a few years ago now, but I doubt I will ever forget it. I was with my Aunt and cousins on my mom’s side of the family, and my Aunt was kind enough to take us on a ghost tour of Fort Niagara. I think we were in our early teenage years at the time, and the experience was quite neat, if you ever have a chance to explore this Fort yourself.

We were in a building that soldiers used to sleep inside. This building had a couple of very small windows, and none of them were open because this took place in late Fall, and it was rather chilly outside. Our tour guide was drinking some coffee out of a paper cup, and he, at one point, set his cup down on top of a barrel in the room. A few minutes passed and his cup, which was empty at this point, tipped over. He was a little perplexed but figured, much like the rest of us, there must have been a draft despite the closed windows. He stood the cup back up and carried on telling us the history of this particular building, only for it to tip over once again a few seconds later. We were all sort of nervously chuckling, and he once more stood the cup back up and carried on. A few minutes went by, and this cup flew off the top of the barrel with alarming speed and force, almost as though an invisible hand had smacked it right off.

It’s an experience I will never forget.
