Today is December 25, otherwise commonly referred to as Christmas, and whether or not you choose to celebrate, I wish you and yours a wonderful holiday season and a grand start to 2026.
For many people, Christmas is perceived as the biggest holiday of the year. I enjoy the holiday as much as the next person, but I wouldn’t say it is my all-time preferred occasion – if anything, Halloween takes the title for me.
As a result of the popularity and familiarity of Christmas, I thought it might be fun to compose a post all about the holiday and offer up some knowledge that you might not know. This information comes from goodhousekeeping.com.

According to The Fact File, the oldest artificial Christmas tree dates back to the early 1800s in Germany and was made from dyed goose feathers attached to wires. Unfortunately, these have been phased out in today’s society, however, artificial Christmas trees still exist but are made from materials such as PVC.

According to The Fact File, Bing Crosby’s ‘White Christmas’ is the best-selling Christmas song of all time and has sold more than 50 million copies worldwide.
“The Rubik was the best selling Christmas toy in 1980. You’re probably familiar with the vibrant, multi-colored Rubik’s Cube beloved by those both young and old. The Rubik was the best-selling Christmas toy in 1980 according to The Fact File. Back then, it was going for $1.99 and today it retails for approximately $10.
“Tinsel was invented in 1610 in Germany. According to The Fact File, tinsel was created in Nuremberg, Germany in 1610. At one point in history, it was even made out of real silver,” the web page states.
