Tim Hortons Brookie: yay or nay?

I have a sweet tooth that could rival the likes of the Cookie Monster, and that really is no exaggeration. When I was a kid, my mom had to put a lock on the pantry because I was constantly sneaking sweets anytime she had her back turned, and chocolate has always been my preference.

I enjoy trying new sweet treats whenever an opportunity presents itself, so when I saw that Tim Hortons is now offering something called a Brookie, I had to try it.

If you’re wracking your brain in an attempt to comprehend what the fuck a Brookie is, don’t stress. I had to see one to understand what it is, and, like the name somewhat suggests, a Brookie is a combination of a brownie and a cookie. In the context of Tim Hortons take on it, theirs appears as a regular chocolate chip cookie, although the middle of it is significantly larger than a normal cookie would be, and that is because the brownie component of the Brookie is baked inside the cookie.

I wasn’t sure if this would be too sweet, and while I rarely come across something so sweet that even I can’t stomach it, it’s happened. I was a little apprehensive about combining two already rather sweet desserts, but my God, this thing is a piece of beauty.

Tim Hortons Brookie doesn’t contain an entire brownie, and I think that’s probably a good thing, because if an entire brownie did exist inside a chocolate chip cookie, arteries may start closing as it is consumed. If I had to guess, it contains maybe a third of a regular-sized brownie, and the brownie is only in the middle of it as opposed to it reaching the outer edges of the cookie itself.

They’re very tasty, and they’re even better when you dunk them in coffee. Tim Hortons Brookies are absolutely a yay.
