Dry, chapped lips? Read this

I have a somewhat love-hate relationship with lip balm. I like it just as much as the next person, especially considering what it aims to do for dry, chapped lips; my issue with lip balm is that so many of them that I have tried over the years have caused significant acne breakouts around my mouth, chin and upper lip, and because I already have enough pimples as it is, I usually forgo lip products entirely.

This Winter in Canada has been hard, and a very Canadian one at that. Temperatures have been colder than they have in years, and my lips have taken a hit. I have had luck with Burt’s Bees lip balm, but only in the honey scent, and because I didn’t have any on hand, I figured I would try some from a brand I love and trust – Tallow Twins.

Tallow Twins offers two lip balms, but the one I use is the Mint Chip lip balm. Check out a description of the product from tallowtwins.ca:

“Your favorite ice cream meets your new favorite lip balm. Mint Chip Lip Balm is a handcrafted formula made with simple, nourishing ingredients like grass-fed tallow and locally sourced beeswax to protect, soften, and condition the lips. Enriched with rich cacao butter and infused with refreshing organic peppermint essential oil, it delivers lasting hydration while leaving your lips feeling smooth, cool, and minty fresh all day long.

“Our lip balms are 0.3oz, which means they are 3x the size of your generic lip balm!” the web page states.

Not only does this stuff make your lips feel like absolute butter, but the moisturizing effects are insane. I haven’t had any issues with breakouts using this lip balm, and its subtle scent is positively lovely. I can’t recommend it enough, or any of Tallow Twins’ products, for that matter.
