I am, and arguably always will be, a sucker for fragrance. One of my favourite scents of all time happens to be vanilla, which my mother conveniently despises, so, naturally, when I was still living at home, I had to barricade myself and my scents to my own secluded corner in my bedroom in hopes of not disrupting my mother’s sinuses.
Now that I have my own place, I can flaunt as much damn vanilla as I want, and it’s been rather pleasant.
A little while ago, I purchased the Cake Beauty Finishing Touch Hair and Body Mist in the Toasted Vanilla & Macadamia Scent, and I positively love it. You can get it from most drugstores here in Ontario, Canada, and from amazon.ca, depending on your preference.
I read recently that there are two other scents available in the Cake Beauty spray, and because I’m a curious fuck, I wanted to investigate what they are. I figured I wouldn’t risk trying the Pink Dragonfruit scent because I know what I like, and I am unsure if dragonfruit is something I would enjoy. However, the Pistachio and Salted Caramel scent was rather enthralling, and so I figured I would more than likely enjoy it and decided to give it a shot.
I do still prefer the vanilla scent to the pistachio one, but the latter is also lovely. I would say it is the slightest bit stronger in scent than the vanilla version, but neither is as heavy as a perfume would be, which is why they’re a nice option for daily use.
Cake Beauty is a Canadian company, which is something I can certainly support, and their products do not contain parabens, phthalates, or sulfates, making them a safer option for those of us with sensitivities to harsh chemicals. The vanilla scent is my favourite, but the pistachio is a close second.
