My fantastic sister surprised me early this morning with two tickets of admission to the Generation Beauty/Ipsy Convention in Toronto. The tickets were an early birthday present, as my actual birthday is tomorrow, but I was so thrilled to receive such a wonderful gift.
Danielle (my sister) and I took the train to Toronto, and spent the majority of the day at the show. I had never been to any sort of beauty convention prior to today, so I was unsure of what exactly to expect.
My sister got a discount on ticket prices because she is a registered Ipsy member, Ipsy being a major cosmetic company that sponsors the convention. Without such discount, tickets averaged at approximately $200.00, so while admission is not cheap, I can certainly say you receive your money’s worth in free makeup items from the show.
There were numerous big-name brands present at the show: Too Faced, NYX, Tarte, Nudestix, Cake, Makeup Forever and Moda are a select few of the cosmetic companies that had a booth at the show, and their free samples were generous and excellent quality.
Here is a complete list of the free products I received from today:
– Tarte powder brush
– NudeStix lip and cheek balm
– PurMinerals dual ended eyeliner
– Makeup Forever eyeshadow duo pallet
– NYX butter gloss
– Too Faced glitter glue
– Makeup Forever Aqua xl eye pencil
– Crown Brush eyeliner
– Royal Brush crease brush
– Makeup Forever mascara
– Makeup Forever sensitive eyes makeup remover
– Absolute NY liquid gel liner
– Delectable lip balm
– Benefit porefessional primer
– Physicians Formula instaready bronzer
– Luxie tapered highlight brush
– Essence lipstick
While the wait time for many of the companies was rather outrageous, considering the cost of admission, I thoroughly enjoyed the show. I would highly recommend going to any individual who has a passion for makeup, and I had a really great day with my sister.
