Product Review: Marcelle Flawless Foundation

Being an individual who chooses to wear foundation daily, it is difficult to find a foundation that fulfills all of your preferences in regards to its performance. I composed a blog post that discusses my opinion of the Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation, and while such foundation still remains my ultimate choice, it is too pricey to wear everyday.

I decided to try out the Flawless Foundation by Marcelle. My reasoning behind wanting to experiment with this product results from the impressive ingredients in Marcelle products – the foundation is hypoallergenic, perfume-free, paraben-free, oil-free, gluten-free and tested under dermatological control on sensitive skin.

Tenpted by Marcelle’s claims about its ingredients, I tried out the foundation. The coverage is decent, though even after applying several layers a vast majority of my pimples and skin discolouration were still available. The shade range of this foundation is quite limited with only six shades available, and has an intense dewy finish, meaning if you have oily skin as I do, it results in you resembling a marathon runner in the Sahara desert.

The product also claims to be waterproof, which is entirely false as I wore it when it was raining and I had streak marks down my face where water had encountered the makeup.

This foundation retails for approximately eighteen dollars, and I personally would not purchase it again. That being said, despite it not working for me, it may work incredibly well for a person who has dry/normal skin. I truly wanted to enjoy this product considering it is half the price of the Estée Lauder foundation and because of its healthier ingredients, but it simply did not work out for me.

If you have a foundation of choice and would like to share it with me, please do! In the meantime I will continue looking for an alternative.
