Product Review: Nudestix Gel Colour Lip + Cheek Balm

When I attended Generation Beauty last May with my sister, we received a tremendous amount of goodies and free samples from various cosmetic companies that had booths present at the show. I was going through my makeup drawer this weekend and I rediscovered my Nudestix Gel Colour Lip + Cheek Balm, and I wanted to post a review about it.

I have this particular product in the shade “Posh”, however it does come in a variety of different shades and finishes. It doubles as a lip and cheek product, which is always a bonus, however I have yet to try it out on my cheeks – I have strictly made use of it as a lip product.

This product from Nudestix is vegan, cruelty-free, and, from my understanding according to the Nudestix website, is gluten free. It does not contain parabens, sulfates or phthalates, and retails for approximately $30.00 from Sephora.

This product contains different plant oils extracted from rapeseed, sunflower, cottonseed and soybean, and furthermore contains Vitamin E to act as an antioxidant. It reminds me of a lip balm and has an incredibly smooth and velvety texture, though simultaneously adds a punch of gorgeous colour.

Overall I really enjoy this product, but my one critique is that the shade I own, Posh, is quite shimmery and metallic, and I therefore am unsure of how it would look as a blush. Perhaps you could attempt to use it as a sort of rose-gold highlighter by applying it to the tip of the nose and the tops of the cheekbones, however I prefer to use it solely as a lip product.

The cosmetic company Nudestix was founded by two sisters and their mother, and the family component of this brand certainly makes it more appealing to purchase, in my opinion. If you have ever experimented with Nudestix products, please let me know in the comments!
