Product Review: Bite Beauty Matte Crème Lip Crayon

I received a sample of the Bite Beauty Matte Crème Lip Crayon with one of the last online Sephora orders I placed. I am a sucker for free samples, therefore when a high end or highly reputable product is offered as a free sample with a purchase through Sephora, I take utmost advantage.

Despite this being a sample, the product I received with the rest of my order is a solid size. It contains a decent amount of product and will likely last me for quite a while considering I fail to often wear lip product. I received this lip crayon in the shade “Pastille”, its online description claiming it to resemble a dusty mauve colour. I can personally attest to this claim because it truly does a mauve tint to it, and quite honestly, this particular shade is beautiful. I would argue that it would compliment a majority of skin tones and is therefore incredibly versatile.

A full size version of this particular product retails from Sephora for $28.00, and while this may seem rather expensive, Bite Beauty is one of the best cosmetic companies in terms of the ingredients it incorporates into its products. All of their products are made in Canada and are furthermore free of Parabens, Sulfates and Phthalates, and this particular product contains beneficial antioxidants as well.

This lip crayon comes in approximately twenty different shades, and I would recommend it because it is long-wearing and water-resistant. The only downside I have noticed thus far is that it tends to bleed around the corners of my mouth, meaning the product spreads past the outline of my lips and onto my skin. Perhaps this is because I have been applying the product without using a lip liner, however because of its consistency I think it may bleed whilst on the lips regardless.

Overall I think this product is worth the price and is also easy to use for anyone starting to make use of lip products. If I can make it work, you most certainly can.
