I’ve touched on the subject of my acne a few times with all of you, and I apologize, but I’m going to do so yet again. I know, I know. You’re asking yourself, “why does this girl constantly talk about her acne?”
To put it simply, if you’ve never dealt with acne, you’re likely not going to have any empathy towards those of us who deal with the shit on a daily basis. If you had or have acne, you’re reading this with a voice saying “yaaaaaaas tell me more” in your head.
Enter the La Roche Posay Effaclar Deep Cleansing Foaming Cream. I had heard about this stuff for a while but never got around to giving it a go (probably because I’ve tried literally every acne product on the market and figured the hell with it), but I ended up caving and purchased it about a month ago. I purchased another bottle, a good sign, so I figured it would be safe to give you an honest review at this point.
Has this stuff cured my acne? Hell no. But it hasn’t worsened it in any way, which is definitely not something to be overlooked if your skin breaks out at the drop of a hat. It has a great consistency, and a little goes a looooooooong way, so use it sparingly. I like to put some in the palm of my hand to remove my makeup, then apply it to a washcloth in the shower to achieve a deep clean. It’s incredibly gentle and does give a great clean, two key components for me when it comes to a good face wash. It isn’t cheap, but I think it would work wonders for someone with mild acne. It’s available online and at Shoppers Drug Mart, and if you haven’t experimented with this one yet, I say it’s worth a shot.
