I have a bag I keep in the bathroom containing a random assortment of beauty products I have accumulated over the years, ones I don’t make use of every day. Occasionally, I go through this bag in hopes of being inspired to create some exotic makeup look (which never happens, let’s be honest), and when I was rummaging through it the other day, I came across an oldie but goodie product; the Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer.
I used this stuff religiously for a year or so, and once I came across the Cover FX bronzer I’m obsessed with, the Physicians Formula bronzer quickly became forgotten. When I found it the other day, though, I decided to use it instead of my current cult-favourite, and I forgot just how great this stuff is.
According to the Physicians Formula website, the Murumuru Butter bronzer “delivers a radiant Brazilian goddess glow! Incredibly creamy and soft texture combines the best features of a powder and cream bronzer, to deliver a lit-from-within tropical glow unlike any other.”
This description is a little floofy, as I don’t think I glow from within when I wear it, but it is pretty damn good. It contains “essential fatty acids and pro-vitamins that soften, condition and moisturize the skin, leaving it silky soft” and seals in “moisture to deliver instant and lasting hydration.” It promises to “smooth skin texture, brighten skin tone and deliver a gorgeous bronze finish,” and rich with Murumuru Butter, Cupuacu Butter and Tucuma Butter from the Amazon, this stuff not only wears beautifully, but it nourishes the skin. It’s hypoallergenic, paraben free, gluten free, cruelty-free, oil-free, non-comedogenic, and dermatologist approved, available in four shades, it retails for $15. A little pricey for drugstore, but this company prides itself upon using high-quality ingredients.
The best part? It smells like Pina Coladas. I definitely recommend this bronzer, and it might just become your cult-favourite.
