I have been using Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place foundation for years now, and as much as I love it, I was getting a little bored with the forever increasing price tag on it. So, when I went to Shoppers to pick up a few things a couple of weeks ago, I asked the cosmetician what she recommends that is comparable to the Estee Lauder finish. She recommended the Dermablend Flawless Creator Foundation Drops, and I figured I may as well give it a shot.
According to their website, this bad boy is a multi-use foundation containing 33 per cent pigment.
Yes, you read that correctly 33 flippin’ per cent.
That’s a hell of a lot of coverage, and this stuff applies like a dream. It’s super creamy, rich and blendable, and trust me when I say you only need a drop. It’s water-free, oil-free and claims to last 16 hours without smudging or creasing. It’s free of parabens, fragrance, phthalates, triclosans, sodium lauryl sulfates, and it’s vegan. It’s also dermatologist-tested for safety, allergy-tested, sensitive-skin tested, non-comedogenic, and non-acnegenic.
For $40, it’s a winner.
Alas, due to my luck, this foundation simply did not work for me. At all. I had it on for roughly two hours and you could have fried bacon on my face, it was so oily. I even tried swapping out setting powders to see if it wasn’t working with a different product, but nothing changed. It would come off my skin so easily and move around before half the day was over; basically, it was a bloody disaster for me.
My experience with this product really is disappointing because I wanted to love it. It’s made with high-quality ingredients, it has tremendous coverage, and because you only need a small amount, you get bang for your buck with the price.
This is only my experience. I sincerely hope it works wonders for someone else.
