I’ve been pretty committed to my Tarte Shape Tape concealer, however, since my supply is running quite low, I needed to broaden my concealer options according to what I had on-hand.
Enter my mom’s makeup stash. Yes, desperate times call for desperate measures.
I noticed that she had the bareMinerals Stroke of Light Under Eye Concealer sitting in her drawer for quite some time, and I wasn’t positive she had ever used it, either. So, I took a chance and applied it to my under eyes one morning, and then to my forehead the next, and ultimately to my pimples a few days later.
Needless to say, I asked my mom if she was using it, and she told me I could have it.

I don’t own anything from bareMinerals, with the exception of a hand-me-down concealer from my mom, but this product has impressed me.
Here is a description of this puppy from the bareMinerals website.
“Add a little illumination to your complexion with Stroke of Light Under Eye Brightener. The travel-ready mineral concealer blends seamlessly to disguise imperfections with sheer to medium coverage. Available in 4 luminous shades, this eye brightening liquid concealer visibly reduces fine lines and dark circles while giving you a refreshed, radiant and even-toned look.”
It retails for $18.00, which seems reasonable to me, but I’ll admit that I’m a little underwhelmed with the fact there are only four available shades.
Step it up, bareMinerals.
I took a scan of the reviews on the site, and for the most part, people really like this product. It has a brightening effect, which makes it better suited for highlighting and contouring rather than concealment, but I like to live dangerously.
Would I buy this again? Maybe. Overall I’m not wowed by it, but I’m not disappointed with it, if that makes sense.
