Suffering from a dry scalp? Try Aveeno’s Apple Cider Vinegar Blend shampoo

Having to deal with a dry, flaky scalp is not an enjoyable experience. Between the itching, the white flakes falling out like snow upon scratching, and the dryness, dandruff in combination with an itchy head is arguably one of the most uncomfortable sensations to have to deal with.

I don’t normally get dandruff, but I find that some makes an appearance when I’ve been using a certain shampoo for an extended period of time. I’m not sure if it’s an occurrence of product buildup, but when I first notice scalp dryness, I know it’s time to switch things up.

I picked up Aveeno’s Apple Cider Vinegar Blend shampoo a couple of weeks ago in hopes it it improving my dandruff situation. I’ve used it a handful of times now, which I think is enough to be able to write a review of this product. It claims to clarify and add shine to hair, so I thought I would give it a shot.

According to its description on the Aveeno website, this shampoo contains “oat (as) the first ingredient in this scalp-soothing, farm-fresh inspired shampoo infused with apple cider vinegar to clarify and add shine to dull hair. Ingredients help to promote a healthy scalp environment while enhancing hair’s natural beauty. Sulfate free shampoo, no dyes or parabens.”

I was a little hesitant about trying this stuff as I was slightly worried it would smell like apple cider vinegar. I’m happy to report it does not, though, and rather has a lovely scent. It lathers nicely and rinses out of my hair without leaving any sort of residue, which is something I can appreciate.

So far, this shampoo has definitely helped to combat my dandruff, and I would recommend it for anyone else dealing with a flaky scalp. It’s inexpensive, pure, and effective.
