Are you a fan of ‘The Walking Dead’?

Please allow me to begin by acknowledging that the television series ‘The Walking Dead’ is by no means a new show. It’s been around for a while now, and actually, the tenth and final season recently wrapped up.

I was certainly familiar with the show and its premise, but I never ended up watching an episode because the whole zombie apocalypse trope, in my opinion, is overrated, and overdone.

Blaine is a fan of the series, and he watched it avidly in the first few years we were dating. His interest in it piddled out somewhat, but recently, for some unknown reason, his attention towards it has been ignited once again and he decided to re-watch it right from the beginning. I figured I may as well give it a shot, and lo and behold, despite my extensive delay, I can understand why this show is as successful as it is.

‘The Walking Dead’, as hinted in its title, depicts a situation in which the entire population of planet Earth has become infected by a virus that, upon death, continues activity in the brain and enables a corpse to walk around as though it is very much alive. Its bite transmits the virus, and naturally, these fucks have a palate that favours human flesh. It is absolutely and utterly violent and gory, and I would not recommend it to anyone with a weak stomach. I don’t particularly enjoy the gore myself.

I do enjoy the majority of the characters and their development throughout the seasons, as well as the non-stop action packed into the plot. This show is seriously hard to walk away from, and I feel as though anyone who watches it knows exactly what I’m talking about. There’s something intense happening in every scene, and it certainly keeps you on your toes.

We’re only on the third season, so I have a ways to go yet. So far, though, I am enjoying it.
