Have you seen ‘Beef’?

I’ve mentioned already that Blaine and I are making our way through The Walking Dead television series on Netflix. The duration of this show is rather extensive; I believe there are 11 seasons total, and while we are nearing the conclusion of the ninth season, from time to time, we like to watch something different to switch things up.

Glenn Rhee is a character from The Walking Dead that Blaine and I both love, so when we saw that Steven Yeun, the actor who plays Glenn, is in a show that recently premiered via Netflix titled Beef, we knew we had to give it a go.

We are only a few episodes into the first season, but so far, it’s good. The plot of the show is pretty hysterical in its essence; the first episode begins with a road rage incident between Danny, played by Steven Yeun, and Amy, played by the truly hilarious Ali Wong. Following this incident, both Danny and Amy take it upon themselves to exact revenge upon one another, paying no mind to the extreme extent they’re willing to go to, and further, how purely illogical and impulsive they’re both being.

Amy and Steven live polar opposite lives in this show. Amy has a lovely family and an incredibly successful business, but isn’t particularly happy with where she is in life. Steven, on the other hand, finds himself struggling to make ends meet, has a very dysfunctional family, and is willing to do just about any sort of work to make a few bucks.

The two certainly don’t have a whole lot in common, making the plot and the character dynamic between them that much more ridiculous.

Beef has wicked reviews so far online, and anyone I’ve chatted with about it loves it. Give it a view if you’re looking for something new to watch.
