Costco Partini Fried Dill Pickle Chips: hit or miss?

I am an avid pickle lover – always have been, and arguably always will be. My preference is dill, and while I’m not a huge fan of sweet, or bread-and-butter pickles, if they’re the only pickles available, I will lower my standards and eat them.

I’m all for pickle-inspired dishes, too, since we are on the topic. Deep-fried pickles are one of my favourite things to eat, alongside a delightful dipping sauce, and dill pickle poutine is also great if you ever have the opportunity to try it.

I visited Costco last week with my sister and I spotted an intriguing product I hadn’t yet seen before. I grabbed a box of Costco Partini Fried Dill Pickle Chips to see how they measure up to my pickle preferences, and I’m happy to share my findings with all of you.

I really like the concept of dill pickle chips, and when prepared correctly, I imagine they’re absolutely scrumptious. I’ve tried making the ones I picked up at Costco twice now, and while the flavour is good, they always end up being on the soggy side regardless of how long I cook them in my air fryer. I stumbled across another review of these pickle chips, and the reviewer had the same issue I did with the pickles turning out a wee bit soggy, but according to their post, doubling the cooking time mentioned in the instructions on the box helps them to crisp up just like any decent pickle chip should.

I wasn’t planning on purchasing these again because of their soggy nature, but after reading someone else’s experiences with them, I’m willing to try again and cook them longer. The flavour is great, and I can certainly taste the dill pickle inside the breading – if the breading wasn’t a soggy, sad mess, I imagine the overall experience would be much more pleasant.
