Quite a while ago, I wrote a post discussing how I had gotten into the habit of brushing one of our cats, Lionel, daily. I unintentionally got into this habit by, one day, randomly trying out my own hairbrush on Lionel to see how he would react; he absolutely loved it, much to my surprise, and it was at that moment I figured I should probably invest in an actual cat brush to use on him.
Once I started regularly brushing Lionel, I noticed he had quite a bit of dry skin, and, furthermore, dandruff. I did some searching online to see what sort of products were available that benefit his skin, and I found a colloidal oat spray made by Burts Bees that worked wonders.
Unfortunately, I recently ran out of this spray, and when I tried to reorder it, I had a hell of a time finding the same version I purchased before. I did find an alternative spray, also made by Burts Bees, that I was willing to try, and I am very pleased I did. As is Lionel.
The Burts Bees for Cats Natural Waterless Spray Shampoo with Apple and Honey retails on Amazon for $20, and if you own cats, dandruff-ridden or not, it’s worth every penny. Lionel is not a fan of being directly sprayed, so instead, I spritz his brush and then apply it all over his coat. Since switching to this shampoo version of the product as opposed to the dandruff spray, not only is Lionel’s dandruff diminishing better than it was with the actual dandruff spray, but his coat has never looked or felt better.
It has a mild, light, refreshing scent, and it is quite simple to use. If you own a cat and you brush them, consider giving this product a try – it is absolutely worth it.
