Have you visited Stonewall Estates?

This past weekend, Blaine and I had the pleasure of attending a wedding of longtime friends of ours. Blaine has been friends with the groom for many years; I went through high school with both the bride and groom; and furthermore played rugby with the bride back in high school.

Needless to say, the couple in question are great friends of ours, and we were thrilled to have the opportunity to celebrate with them on their big day.

The wedding took place at Stonewall Estates in Lincoln. I had never heard of it before, but I do have some familiarity with Lincoln; when I was going to Brock University, I came home most weekends and would always take the back roads. I drove through Lincoln weekly, but I hadn’t visited Stonewall Estates before, and neither had Blaine.

Stonewall Estates, according to its website, is a family-owned and operated winery, and furthermore working farm, located in Lincoln. As soon as we arrived I was taken aback by how stunning the grounds are, and as you come up a long, winding driveway, you’re able to see the vineyard as well as a fruit orchard.

The building itself is absolutely gorgeous. It has a rustic, cozy feel while simultaneously feeling elegant, and the reception was inside a building that very much reminded me of the barns on our family farm. It offered tremendous character with stunning ambiance, and this in combination with the grounds is sure to sway even the most critical folks.

Stonewall Estates does sell its own wine, and from what I can see online and through social media, it is a common spot for weddings. Understandably so; I told my parents that I would love to go back there just to explore a little more, and I have no doubt I will eventually return.
