Looking for some pre-workout? Try this

I have never used pre-workout at any point in my life with the exception of this past summer. Granted, I’ve always been familiar with it and what it does, but I never really saw a reason for me to use it personally.

Playing rugby this past summer certainly shifted my perspective toward pre-workout, however. Back when we had our first game in May, one of my teammates offered me some of her pre-workout. I told her I had never used it, so she recommended trying one scoop to see how I felt. I realized after the game had finished that I had more energy playing throughout than I normally do, so I figured it was worth buying some.

I actually purchased the same pre-workout my teammate gave me. I grabbed the Alani Pre-Workout Galaxy Lemonade via Amazon, and the size I bought contains 30 servings. It lasted me the entirety of my rugby season, and I shared it with my teammates, too, so it lasts quite a while, depending on how often you use it.

Here is a description of the product from Amazon: “Packed with 200 mg of caffeine to provide energy during workouts and training sessions, and with 1.6g of Beta-Alanine, 6g of Citrulline, 500mg of L-Tyrosine to support your goals. 100% transparent ingredients means no proprietary blends, so you know exactly what you’re putting into your body.”

The ingredients consist of sodium citrate, silica, natural and artificial flavour, sucralose, acesulfame potassium, beet-root powder and spirulina extract. I didn’t experience any stomach issues with it at any point, which I consider a win, and while it does make me feel a wee bit jittery, it isn’t anything that borders being intolerable.

To my knowledge, this pre-workout is one of the cleaner ones available in terms of ingredients, and I absolutely recommend it.
