Read this if you have Milia around your eyes

I suppose I should initiate this post by explaining what Milia is, in case anyone is unfamiliar with the term. If you have not heard of Milia before, fair enough; this is perhaps a result of you having great skin and not encountering a tremendous amount of acne in your life.

Milia is a form of acne, but perhaps not in the sense you’re thinking. When most of us contemplate acne, visions of whiteheads and blackheads typically come to mind. Whiteheads and blackheads might be a bit more prominent compared to other forms of comedones in the acne realm, but Milia likes to make an appearance here and there. In essence, Milia are small white or yellow mumps that form underneath the skin, typically caused by trapped keratin or dead skin. They often appear around the eyes, nose and skin, and in my case, they’ve been popping up around my eyes.

I don’t love how they look because a few people have mistaken them for eye goop, so I asked my eye doctor what I can do myself to try and get rid of them. She recommended using a heated compress over my eyes for a few minutes daily, and she mentioned a few eye masks on the market that can help minimize Milia.

I purchased the MyHalos Microwave Activated Moist Heat Eye Compress for Dry Eyes and Stye Treatment via Amazon a few days ago, and while it is too early to tell if it is helping to combat Milia, I will say that I thoroughly enjoy using the mask. I throw it in the microwave for about 30 seconds before I go to bed and put it on as I’m getting into bed. Using it, I think, helps me fall asleep faster as it’s quite relaxing, and I sincerely hope it will also get rid of this shit on my eyes.
