You’ve heard of peppermint bark, but how about coffee bark?

I have no issue being entirely transparent when it comes to the copious volume of coffee I consume. Is the amount of coffee I consume in a given day considered healthy, or even socially acceptable, for that matter? Nope. But, I love coffee, and I don’t anticipate changing my habits until I have to.

I do not drink coffee because of the caffeine boost it can provide consumers with, but, rather, simply because I love the taste. I find it comforting in a way, if that makes any sense whatsoever.

Like the title of this post suggests, I would wager most of you are familiar with peppermint bark, a popular sweet treat enjoyed during the holiday season. But, I wonder how savvy you are with coffee bark, and because I was not aware that this is a thing, I wanted to share a recipe I found from tasteofhome.com to share with all of you. Check it out.

“Coffee Bean Bark

“Ingredients

  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 teaspoons instant coffee granules
  • 2/3 cup coarsely chopped coffee beans, divided
  • 1 package (10 to 12 ounces) white baking chips

“Directions

  1. Line a 15x10x1-in. pan with parchment or waxed paper. In a microwave-safe bowl, microwave chocolate chips and coffee granules on high for 45 seconds; stir. Continue microwaving in 15-second intervals until smooth, stirring after each interval. Stir in 1/3 cup coffee beans.
  2. Spread into prepared pan. Refrigerate until set, but not hard, about 15 minutes.
  3. In a microwave, melt white baking chips according to package directions. Stir in remaining 1/3 cup coffee beans; spread over chocolate layer. Refrigerate until firm. Break into pieces,” the recipe states.

Without sounding maniacal, can we take a moment to fathom how delightful this stuff would be when paired with a hot, lovely cup of coffee?

You’re welcome.
