I am infinitely grateful to my mom and dad for introducing me to classic rock music from a pretty young age. They exposed me to other genres, too, like country and soft rock, but classic rock was almost always playing in our home every Sunday morning while we ate breakfast together as a family.
It’s a memory I will always cherish.
Since my parents got me hooked on some of the best sounds ever created, classic rock is now my favourite genre of music. I have my favourite singers and bands, and one of them happens to be The Eagles. I’ve never seen the actual Eagles band perform, but my parents have, and when they saw them a few years back, Glenn Frey was still with us Earthside.
My mom discovered an Eagles tribute band a few years ago named Hotel California, and to date, I’ve seen this group three or four times, and my parents even more. They tend to visit the Sanderson Centre in Brantford, Ontario, once a year, so whenever we catch wind of them making another appearance, my mom always secures tickets.
We saw Hotel California at the Sanderson Centre this past Saturday, and I can say with full confidence that this time around was by far the best performance I’ve ever seen from the group. They’re always excellent, to be fair, but this last show we saw featured some new and younger gentlemen in the band who put on one hell of a show. The place was packed, and I was pleased to see a few people roughly my age in attendance and not solely grey and white heads.
If you’re a fan of The Eagles, I cannot recommend Hotel California enough. They’re arguably the best Eagles tribute band in existence, and they’ve been around the block a few times, so they certainly know what they’re doing.
