I had a pair of Crocs for quite a few years when I was younger. I wore them religiously, and while I’m not entirely sure what happened to them, I think perhaps they were worn out or a dog got a piece of them. I never got another pair after these ones were destroyed, but not at all because I didn’t enjoy wearing Crocs – I honestly think I forgot and simply moved on with another pair of shoes of some sort.
For my birthday a few weeks ago, two of my very good friends got me a pair of Crocs for my birthday. I was overwhelmed, to say the least, because Crocs, like most things these days, are not nearly as affordable as they once were, but I was simultaneously incredibly grateful. The two gals who were kind enough to get me a pair are on my rugby team, and they told me they find them some of the best possible shoes to wear to and from the pitch.
Their reasoning for this assertion? They claim Crocs are the best shoes in the context of rugby because it doesn’t matter how muddy they get as they can easily be washed; they’re easy to slip on and off when you’re switching over to cleats and then back again; they can’t be damaged by water exposure; and they’re ridiculously comfortable.
The pair my friends got me are a truly gorgeous shade of blue, and they’re arguably some of the prettiest Crocs I have had the pleasure of laying eyes on. I’ve been thoroughly enjoying them, and they’ve quickly become my go-to shoes, regardless of what I might be doing.
Crocs really are great shoes, and if you’re like me and are taking an extensive absence from them, consider this your sign to reintroduce them to your wardrobe.
