Now that our official rugby season has come to an end, I thought it might be worthwhile to go for a massage. I say official season because while we don’t have any more games until next year, we do have a winter touch league that some of us participate in. In touch, there isn’t direct hitting, so it’s a milder version of the game I love.
My body took a decent beating this season, as any rugby player’s does, and because I haven’t had a massage in years, I thought it might be a good idea to loosen up some tightly wound muscles. My mom suggested I try Massage Addict on Colborne Street in Brantford because she has been there a handful of times, so that is what I did.
I had never been inside this facility prior to a couple of days ago, and I was content with what I saw. The establishment is clean, quiet and relaxing, and the woman at the front desk was professional and kind. I booked a massage with Carrie, who I absolutely recommend if you’re in the Brantford area and are in need of a massage, and I enjoyed it so much that I booked another massage for next month.
Before the actual massage began, Carrie and I chatted about previous injuries and concerns of mine that were relative to the massage, and she had me do a handful of movement exercises in front of her before she got started to see if she could spot any irregularities. Shockingly, she found a few, and she actually informed me my right shoulder, which is my dominant hitting shoulder in rugby, sits higher than the left, so that’s kind of neat.
I was with Carrie for one hour, and I left feeling more relaxed than I have in a very long time. I absolutely recommend both Carrie and Massage Addict to anyone looking for some relief.
