Have you been to Speekeezie’s in Brantford?

This past Saturday, my family and I had a lovely dinner at Speekeezie’s restaurant in Brantford, Ontario. This place has held a special place in all of our hearts for many years now, and we tend to go there to celebrate occasions like birthdays and anniversaries. On this particular occasion, we were celebrating my mom’s birthday.

Speekeezie’s is casual fine Mediterranean dining. Their food is excellent, as is its atmosphere; the inside is warm, quaint and cozy, and you absolutely feel at home when you’re here. The staff is lovely and kind, as is the owner, Anthony; this man is so passionate about the food he prepares, and it is evident in speaking with him, and additionally when consuming his incredible food.

Blaine always gets their pizza, as does my sister and dad. My sister is a sucker for their four-cheese pizza, and Blaine for their Canadian, minus the mushrooms. Their pizza is excellent, but so is their pasta, so I often find myself torn between different menu items and not knowing which one to settle on. I have never had a bad dish here.

Some of my personal favourites from the menu include their tomato soup, which is hands down the best tomato soup I have ever had the pleasure of tasting; their pizza, as already stated; and their pasta, also as already stated. Regarding pasta dishes, their seafood dish is phenomenal, and their classic penne always hits the spot.

They almost always have a variety of specials that’s aren’t featured on the menu that incorporate local, seasonal ingredients. My parents have gotten specials once or twice, and they’ve always been great.

Going to Speekeezie’s is always a great time, and you can bet that when you leave you will with a full belly and a smile on your face.
