Feeling creative? Try a Social Bee Paint Party

While I might not be the most skilled with it, I’ve always enjoyed dabbling in art in its many forms. When I was younger, I tried my hand at some drawing, and in my adulthood, I’ve come to realize I rather enjoy painting. I’ve purchased a couple of paint-by-number kits to try my hand at, and while I realize these are arguably seen as a crime by actual painters, they’re challenging enough for me.

A personal friend of mine, whom I met through my rugby club, hosts paint nights in the Brant and Norfolk area. The name of her business is Social Bee Paint Parties, and I absolutely recommend checking her Facebook page out, which I linked to, to learn more about the wonderful woman known as Lorraine and her painting knowledge and magical abilities.

I’ve known Lorraine for a few years now, and I am not exaggerating when I say she is one of the kindest and warmest souls I have ever known. Two of my good friends and I recently attended one of her paint nights, and we had a blast, despite none of us being terribly savvy with paint and a canvas.

Lorraine really does it all. In addition to providing all materials, including canvases, paint, brushes, stencils and more, she makes herself readily available to all people in attendance who have questions or concerns about a specific painting technique. She never makes you feel stupid; rather, she encourages you to trust the process, believe in yourself, and discover what you’re capable of with your own piece of art.

Lorraine charges $40 for a paint party evening with her, and this fee covers the cost of materials and provides you with one beverage of your choice from wherever her paint night happens to be on that particular day. Social Bee Paint Parties are a fantastic night out, with friends or family, and you just might surprise yourself with what you create.
