Earwax isn’t exactly something most of us have a strong yearning to chat about, and understandably so. It’s a wee bit gross, despite all of us having it, and while it is a very natural thing to occur within an ear, it can become problematic if a buildup occurs and it begins to block the ear canal, resulting in reduced hearing.
I’ve had an issue with earwax buildup on and off throughout my life, and I think it is a wonderful trait I inherited from my Opa, because he, too, had issues with his own ears. When I was a child, it got so bad that I completely lost hearing in one ear; I went to my doctor and had my ear borderline blasted with a pressure-washer-type device, and while it certainly helped, it isn’t entirely feasible to go running to the clinic each time a buildup happens.
I decided to take matters into my own hands and order an earwax cleaning tool from Amazon. There are a few you can pick from, but I ended up getting one equipped with a camera. You can hook the device up to your phone to see within your own ear while you’re using it to ensure you’re able to clean out every last morsel, within reason, and it comes with quite a few attachments depending on your preference and, probably, the shape of your inner ear.
The device I ordered is on sale thanks to Black Friday, if you’re hoping to save a few bucks, and I linked it in the above paragraph. I’ll be sure to let you know how it works once I use it, and I am sincerely hoping it helps to reduce the amount of shit in my ears before I lose the ability to hear once more. Wish me luck.
